Tom's brother and his wife have 5 children-all adopted, and all of them are African-American or Hispanic. They range in age from a freshman in college to 4 years old-4 boys, 1 girl. They are all extremely special to us, even though we don't get to see each other as often as we would like. The youngest, Joshua, was adopted 4 years ago at Thanksgiving time. His adoption was finally FINAL last Friday!!! They had a celebration after the ceremony and then watched the Holidazzle parade in The Cities. Unfortunately, we couldn't attend as I had to work that weekend, and on Friday, the kids were still in school and Tom had to work. We were there in spirit, though!!
